CARS with Catwoman
Full Body Stretch & Joint Conditioning
One Year CatWoman Anniversary
I cannot believe it’s been a whole year since I debuted Selina Kyle and her stretchy series with Functional Range Conditioning!
Who better to guide you through these stretchy system of mobility based joint training moves than a cat burglar known for weaving her way into the tightest of spaces?
I wanted to make these moves a bit more exciting! Mobility training can be a bit tedious and your reaction to her was overwhelmingly positive!
The firsrt series I did last year- we broke down the CARS in its most basic form. Today well be adding in a block to spice it up add variety and make it even more effective.
Functional Range Conditioning, or FRC is a science based System consisting of strength mobility and flexibility training.
Years of Pilates and yoga never gave me the flexibility I wanted. FRC is an active form of stretching and multiple studies have proven that active and dynamic stretching is way more effective to get you the usable range of motion you need for things like splits and handstands.
Pilates will always be my first love (along with cosplay) but when I hurt my hip a few years back, FRC is what helped to heal it.
You can check out my first catwoman series here, scroll down for today’s more challenging CARS series.
Flexibility is the ability to lengthen a muscle.
Mobility is the ability of a joint to move actively through its range of motion
And for a healthy stable and functional body- you’ll need both.
You’ll need a yoga block- catsuit is optional.
Here are some fun facts about Catwoman’s outfit
When Catwoman debuted in the comics she was wearing a dress
In 1940 the Cat -as she was called -had a cat face mask in Batman #3 & 1942’s #10
Then in Batman #3 she was given a mask and cape
In 1946 Batman #35 Catwoman was given a cat eared cowl instead of the mask. She was also drawn with yellow hair instead of black.
The tv show put her in the catsuit in 1966 - thank Emma Peel
In 1966 the comic version of her TV catsuit was drawn in Superman’s Girl Friend Lois Lane #70 in black green and purple.
CARS stands for Controlled Articular Rotations.
You circle your joints at each angle in a slow and controlled manner.
This workout is suitable for all levels - and it is best if practiced every morning- but feel free to try these moves out a few times per day.
