I can’t believe I’ve never done a Wonder Woman Wunda Chair Workout for Youtube!
I’ve done tons of them in Instagram and Tiktok but never here on the blog, and I’m so excited for her debut.
Plus my last Pilates Chair videos over on YT did so well, and you asked for more chair workouts.
Technically I’m on the Exo Chair today, not the Wunda, but did you know that clients named all of the apparatus or equipment at Joseph Pilates original studio in New York? Joe spoke with a thick German accent and when they said it was wonderful he pronounced it Wunda. The name stuck. His clients would come in often and give the pieces nicknames- Cadillac being the standout.
And who better to show us some wonderful moves then Diana Prince herself?
She’ll flow us through a full body workout that will move your spine in many different directions. We’ll build strength and work on flexibility and there are even some flying moments!
If you’ve never been on a Pilates Chair- it’s a small piece of equipment that is loaded with 2 or 2 springs.
Some of them have handles to stabilize and or hooks to attach elastic resistance bands. It was designed to fit into small NYC apartments- unlike the other machines like reformers or Cadillacs that are quite large and bulky.
In today’s workout I’ll be using the band to add some fire to lunges side bends and a few other total body core based moves. It is an intermediate based routine so use discretion if you’re a beginner or have injuries.
