Must-Haves For Home Workouts
Over the past few months, if you like to work out, you will probably have been working out a lot at home.
Even if gyms and classes are opening up, or moving to outdoor spaces, you may still very much desire to stay with your home workouts for a bit longer.
If you’re new to exercising from home, then having the right pieces can make a HUGE difference, and make the workouts from home much more likely to happen.
Here are some of the BEST basics to get, in order to get you started.
Clothing:
Having the right kind of clothing is one of the number one thing
that you can do to get you started working out from home.
Although you could technically start working out in your pajamas, it will make a difference if you have the right fit and feel in them.
Getting a strappy sports bra is a must for the ladies, am I right?
Some gym leggings can help too, as well as a top or shirt of your choice. For me a love colorful printed leggings and bright solid tops.
Comfortable supportive and well fitting training shoes are a must too.
Adjustable free weights:
We don’t all have the space or the storage for a large set of free weights at home.
Which is where adjustable free weights come in. Using a bar and a variety of weight plates, you can easily adjust the weight to what you want, and then you only need to find a small space to stack up the weight plates. They are a small investment but they will be used again and again.
Yoga Mat:
Whether you will actually be using the yoga mat for yoga or not doesn’t really matter.
You will need the support that comes from a yoga mat for a variety of exercises from stretching to sit ups. The added layer helps a lot for your bones and joints, especially on hard surfaces, and it helps to give you a non-slip layer to stand on too.
You might have seen the SUPER huge yoga mat I use in most of my videos- it allows me so much more freedom to move and it has quite a bit of padding despite its small size.

Portable Speaker:
The best thing about home workout’s -you don’t need to wear headphones
(unless you have housemates who hate your taste in music). But the best room to workout in (or outside) might not have access to a music system or speakers.
Which is why a portable speaker is a good idea.
If it has Bluetooth, then it can easily connect to your phone and play your workout playlist. Music keeps me motivated to finish a tough workout set. It really makes a huge difference in the mood and feel and moticvation to get it one.
Did you know all my workout videos feature the best underground beats?
Resistance bands:
Bands are something that are really versatile and really inexpensive, so adding them to your home workout arsenal is a really good idea.
They can be used for adding resistance to your legs, your arms, and everything else in between.
They are compact and small, so they can be a great addition if you haven’t got any storage space, as they can fold up and go in a drawer at home.
My favorite brand is Hope Fitness Gear, they have a huge selection and this brand gives back. Check them out, click below:)
