How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes and Beauty Blenders

It’s time to go all Ms Clean on your favorite make up brushes, sponges, and beauty blenders

Dirty makeup brushes will harbor oil and bacteria, none of which I want on my skin.

Soiled makeup tools will mix old colors into the new ones you’re using.  This can mess up your lewk and trap gunk that can clog pores.

I have acne prone skin and the cosplay looks I love to do, I need an effective strategy to keep the dirt AWAY.

Keeping em tidy will help them to last longer and stay fresher, saving you money from having to rebuy

Dawn dish detergent is the number one thing you’ll see if you google “and trust me I did that.

But I was using half a bottle to get the gunk out of my foundation brushes and it still had residue left over.  I also found that dish washing liquid would dry out my wooden brush handles.

Anyone thats ever beat their face with a beauty blender knows the true pain of trying to beat the makeup out of these things.

I was spending a large amount of money on Dawn and still not getting them clean…….

When I discovered Shop Miss A over quarantine, the biggest value was their Argan Oil soap collection.

You can chose from a brush Brush or a Sponge soap and from a variety of scents.  I have found that the Sponge soap will work on Brushes but the Brush soap, which is textured, doesn’t work so well on the Blenders

Watch the Quick Vid and hers the breakdown

How to Wash Your Makeup Brushes

  1. Wet the Brush

  2. Swirl Brush Into Soap Tin until it suds. You’ll see the makeup come out (immensely satisfying)

  3. Swirl the sudsy brush into the quick brush cleaner, getting the suds all through the bristles

  4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 if necessary

  5. Thoroughly rinse brush, using hands to release any soap if needed.

  6. Shake out any excess water and blot with a towel

  7. Set to dry on a ledge with bristles not touching ANYTHING. You can also hang upside down with hair bands and clips.
