Happy National Peanut Butter Day!
How To Make A Healthy Peanut Butter and Chocolate Smoothie Bowl
If you are craving chocolate and want to celebrate this awesome holiday with me, here's the recipe for these rich, nutritious, and satisfying smoothie bowls. Cacao and Cocoa are loaded with minerals and peanut butter is a healthy source of fat and protein.
Try this Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie Bowl for your next breakfast or snack or dessert. It tastes like a chocolate peanut butter cup but miraculously without any high fructose syrup or dairy.
Mix the below ingredients in a blender. I used a ninja blender. You may need to cycle through a few times in order t achieve the right creamy thick texture for a bowl.
- 2 TBSP Whole Foods Natural Peanut Butter
- 1 TBSP Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1TBSP Cacao Powder
- 1 Frozen Banana
- 1/4 cup Almond Milk
- 2 big Ice Cubes
Do NOT overdo the milk or you'll just have a smoothie. I had to go through three blend cycles since I didn't want to add liquid.....
Then I topped with:
- Granola
- Almonds
- Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
- Honey
- Cashews
- Cacao Nibs
- Peanut Butter melted
I am a huge advocate of smoothies, In the warmer temps I easily crave fruits. As the temperatures drop, I just do not crave strawberries. The creamy cacao and peanut butter tastes really are blissful. I think it's a great way to get back into the smoothie bowl habit!
